CISCO SYSTEMS PLACES ITS SECOND ORDER FOR AMERICAN ACCESS COST-SAVING TELECOM TECHNOLOGY

Orlando, FL - February 2, 1999

American Access Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AATK) announced today that it has received a second order from Silicon Valley networking leader Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) for multiple units of its cost-saving Zone Cabling telecommunications product. The second purchase comes after a successful six-month trial of the first order on voice lines at Cisco's facilities in Austin, Texas.

American Access' patented, UL-approved Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC) products for ceiling grids and raised floors apply the concept of "Zone Cabling" to replace conventional telecom wiring with a system that provides complete flexibility for voice and data cabling infrastructures. In addition to the benefits of greater convenience and ease-of-use, zone cabling is estimated to reduce the long term cost of installing and maintaining a telecom wiring system by as much as 70%.

"Cisco's decision for more Zone Cabling units is based on its initial trial in Austin, which demonstrated the potential of the American Access Zone Cabling System to significantly reduce both the time and expense associated with the constant changes to wiring made to maintain and improve Cisco's telecommunications networks," said American Access CEO Richard A. Murray.

The American Access ZCTC units were originally specified for Cisco's Austin facilities by architects at Facilicom of Jackson, Wy. and installed by telecom contractor ACS Dataline of Austin, Texas. Anixter International Inc. (NYSE:AXE) serves as distributor for both orders.

Cisco Systems Inc. is the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, offering the industry's broadest range of hardware products used to form information networks or give people access to those networks. Cisco products include routers, LAN and ATM switches, dial-up access servers and network management software. Cisco also offers expertise in network design and implementation, technical support and professional services to maintain and optimize network operations. News and product/service information are available at http://www.cisco.com.

American Access Technologies Inc. is a telecommunications technology company that develops, designs and markets innovative products designed to support the evolving structured cabling system components of the telecommunications industry. Its core technology, the Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet, was introduced in January 1997 and is marketed in conjunction with leading telecommunications equipment manufacturers and distributors such as Anixter International Inc. GRAYBAR SIGNS DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES, BEGINS TO STOCK FULL LINE OF ZONE CABLING PRODUCTS

Orlando, FL - February 17, 1999

American Access Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AATK) announced today that Graybar Electric Co., Inc., the leading U.S. distributor of communications wiring systems and components, has signed an agreement to serve as national distributor for the entire line of American Access "Zone Cabling" products.

Graybar already has begun stocking its warehouses with the American Access products. "Graybar's network of communications wiring contractors is the largest in the industry," said American Access President & CEO Richard A. Murray. "In addition to working with and training those Graybar-affiliated contractors to be VARs for our Zone Cabling systems, this new agreement calls for Graybar to handle the logistics of distribution on a nationwide level and participate in joint advertising and marketing with us.

"This kind of contractor coverage, combined with Graybar's advertising support and the strength of its local, regional and national distribution system, represents an immense upgrade in our product marketing and distribution capability," Murray noted. "American Access Technologies has developed a set of products that the industry is very enthusiastic about," said Graybar National Market Manager Robert Bezjak. "We are pleased that Graybar is now able to provide these unique products to all of our customers when they demand them," he explained.

By situating a 2 ft. x 4 ft. ZCTC unit in the ceiling or floor, the conventional "wiring closet" is extended into the office environment closer to PCs, phones, fax machines and other communications devices. The ZCTC can also house LAN hubs, switches and routers, improving network administration. Extending the reach of the traditional "wiring closet" in this manner enables corporate offices, technical centers, schools, labs and hospitals to greatly reduce recabling costs as their needs change.

"In today's dynamic office environments, it is very difficult to maintain the structure of the communications cabling system within a modular furniture platform. Our customers have been looking for a way to make the constant changes in their open-office environments fast, easy and cost-effective," said Karl Griffith, Graybar National Market Manager for Resellers. "The standards-compliant system from American Access Technologies is simply the best solution available today, " he said.

Graybar, the leading U.S. wholesale distributor of communications wiring systems and components, is a Fortune 500 company with 1997 annual sales exceeding $3.3 billion. Through its distribution network of 260 stocking locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, Graybar supplies communications equipment resellers and telephone and other utilities as well as a broad range of commercial accounts. Headquartered in St. Louis, MO, Graybar is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States, with approximately 7,500 employees.

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES REPORTS FIRST QUARTER NET INCOME UP 325%

Sees net per share approaching $1 in 1999, up from loss of 43 cents; Doubles plant capacity to meet demand for zone cabling products.

Orlando, FL - May 12, 1999

American Access Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap: AATK) today reported record sales and earnings for its first quarter ended March 31, 1999. Sales of $1,290,062 were up 57% from $822,713 in the first quarter of 1998. Net operating income of $320,695 or ten cents per common share rose 325% from $75,355 or two cents per share recorded by the company in the first quarter of the previous year.

After preferred dividends of $125,000 and a one-time non-cash charge of $468,750 mandated by new SEC rules on discounting convertible securities, the company recorded a net loss of eight cents per common share compared with net income of two cents per share in the first quarter of 1998, when there were no special charges. The company noted that no further discount on the convertible issue would need to be taken, while preferred dividends would fall to $40,000 in the current quarter and $30,250 each quarter thereafter.

CEO Richard A. Murray said that strong operating performance was due primarily to record sales of the company's Zone Cabling Termination Cabinets and associated equipment. Murray attributed the record to increasing acceptance and adoption of American Access zone cabling products by leaders in the telecommunications industry, as reported in previous press releases.

"As demand continues to grow dramatically, we believe it is possible to triple our revenue to $13 million for the full year. We estimate our net income could roughly double each quarter for the next two quarters, in which case net income even after special charges could approach one dollar per common share for 1999, up from a loss of 43 cents in 1998," he said.

American Access also reported that it has doubled the size of its manufacturing facilities from 30,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft. in order to meet current and expected demand for its zone cabling products. "The strong upward trend in the number and size of the orders we've been receiving indicates that the telecommunications industry is beginning to understand and appreciate the value of our zone cabling technology," said Murray.

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES TO UNVEIL NEW ZONE CABLING ENCLOSURES IN THE HERMAN MILLER SHOWROOM AT NEOCON '99 TRADE SHOW IN CHICAGO

Orlando, FL - June 3, 1999

Telecommunications equipment manufacturer American Access Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap: AATK - news) announced today that it will unveil two new products next week in the Herman Miller showroom at NeoCon `99, the world's leading trade fair for the contract furnishings industry, in Chicago, IL.

The products will also be presented next week at BICSI Summer Conference 1999, a telecommunications trade convention, in Nashville, TN.

The new American Access products, called Comdeck? and Ethocom?, are zone cabling enclosure systems specifically designed to fit inside units of Systems Bridge and Ethospace, respectively, two lines of modular office furniture produced by leading office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller (NASDAQ: MLHR - news).

"Up until now, American Access products delivered the advantages of zone cabling as far as the nearest ceiling tile or raised-floor panel, but now our technology is even more versatile," said American Access CEO Richard A. Murray. "Cost-effective accommodation of telecom cabling has been one of the most vexing problems in modular furniture design for the past 15 years, but now for the first time there is a solution that truly meets the needs of the market."

"We are proud to be working with Herman Miller to offer products that combine the best of modular telecommunications equipment and modular office furniture," said Murray.

Comdeck® and Ethocom® allow telecom switches, hubs and routers to be placed inside modular wall frames, providing gigabit ethernet speeds to desktop workstations over a horizontal cross-connect with a fiber backbone. Changes to any cluster of workstations can be made at the end panels of the frames in a matter of minutes.

Costs associated with moves, adds and changes to telecommunications cabling in a conventional modular furniture setting, over ten years, is typically three times the original cost of the modular furniture. In contrast, the new American Access in-furniture enclosures are estimated to pay for themselves in cost savings in only 4-5 years in most cases.

"Compatibility of Ethocom® with a standard Herman Miller line like Ethospace opens up a $3.5 billion retrofit base with Fortune 500 companies, which we intend to target aggressively," said Murray. "In addition, we intend to market the space-saving combination of Herman Miller's Systems Bridge furniture with our Comdeck® zone cabling to the $26 billion Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) market. What's more, the Systems Bridge line is compatible with modular furniture made by other manufacturers, so the combination may well be attractive to companies that are not already Herman Miller customers," he said. Murray noted that development and demonstration of Comdeck® and Ethocom® were made possible with technical assistance from Herman Miller, Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, Ortronics, AMP Incorporated, Panduit, ADC Telecommunications and Krone and Belden Cable.

"Old classrooms can be retrofitted in days, rather than months, and at one-tenth the six-figure cost of a conventional communications closet," said Murray. "We expect to be very busy over the summer break, preparing classrooms for the fall," he said.

Lake Mary, FL - August 20, 1999

Telecommunications equipment manufacturer American Access Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap: AATK) announced today the acquisition of the trademarks, assets and order and bidding backlogs of Genco, Inc., a privately held manufacturer of generator enclosures.

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES CITES MARGIN CALLS AS CAUSE OF RECENT SHARE PRICE VOLATILITY

Lake Mary, FL - August 23, 1999

Telecommunications equipment manufacturer American Access Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ SmallCap: AATK) commented today on the recent volatility of its stock. The company was informed that a large block of stock has been liquidated as a result of margin calls, causing an imbalance in trading.

"The company does not normally comment on its stock price, but due to the unusual nature of recent trading patterns, we believe it is important for our shareholders to know that insiders have not been selling the stock during this period. The company has been advised that several large blocks of American Access stock held in margin accounts were liquidated due to margin calls. The large number of shares involved, when thrown into our normal trading activity, has at least partially caused this imbalance in trading," said American Access president John Presley.

American Access recently announced the acquisition of the trademarks, assets, orders and bidding backlogs of Genco, Inc., a manufacturer of generator enclosures, for consideration of $550,000 in American Access stock valued at $20 per share. In addition, the company recently reported record sales of $2,925,567 for the six months ended June 30, 1999, up 29% from the $2,260,235 recorded in the six months ended June 30, 1998, reflecting two consecutive quarters of positive net income since the company emerged from its development stage. American Access also maintains significant cash reserves with minimal liabilities.

"We believe that our recent sales and acquisitions speak for themselves and that the company represents a good value to shareholders," Presley said.

SILICON GRAPHICS CHOOSES AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES ZONE CABLING UNITS FOR DATA CENTER UPGRADES

Lake Mary, FL - September 2, 1999

American Access Technologies, Inc., (NASDAQ Small Cap:AATK) today announced that SGI (NYSE:SGI), a market leader in servers, supercomputers and visual workstations has placed its first order for zone cabling units to be used as an integral part of the communications infrastructure upgrade to SGI's 2,000-sq. ft. main data center.

SGI Communications Infrastructure Manager Al Valcour (RCDD) chose American Access' patented, UL-approved, raised-floor Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC) as a space-saving alternative to support higher speed network access. "I had seen the ceiling boxes and the bridge product for Herman Miller (NASDAQ:MLHR) After meeting and talking to American Access personnel, I knew the product was exactly what we needed," Valcour said.

SGI offers some the world's most powerful servers, supercomputers and visual workstations. The company recently began upgrading the connectivity to its servers in the data center to Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and Serial Hippi.

"Our system had outgrown the existing infrastructure and we were intent on redesigning the entire horizontal structure to support higher speed network access," Valcour said. "We also needed to distribute both copper and fiber cabling, but did not want to use floor space to install a rack for each row of servers. Rather than using floor space for racks, we mounted everything under the floor."

American Access manufactures units that mount in ceilings, raised floors, and in custom furniture. The company's concept of "zone cabling" is a cost-saving, space-efficient alternative to conventional communications wiring systems, reducing costs of installation and maintenance by as much as 70%, and providing versatility for voice and data infrastructures.

Valcour said that American Access engineers worked with SGI to design custom mounting brackets for "The Reel Deal", a fiber optic solution made by Seicor Fiber Systems, Inc. "We are always happy to accommodate our customers who realize the value of our zone cabling units in initial installations, and also in additions and changes such as the SGI data center installation," said American Access Director of Sales Ed Rattie.

Anixter International Inc. (NYSE:AXE) acts as distributor, and Sasco Data Systems serves as installation contractor for this initial order by SGI. Valcour said that SGI plans to use American Access units in future data center rewiring projects. "American Access was very supportive, meeting my timeline and manufacturing the custom face plates I needed."

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES BUYS $350,000 IN NEW EQUIPMENT TO LOWER PRODUCTION COSTS FOR HERMAN MILLER, OMEGA ORDERS

Lake Mary, FL - September 10, 1999

Telecommunications equipment manufacturer American Access Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq SmallCap: AATK) announced today the purchase for $350,000 of state-of-the-art equipment to apply powder-coating finishes to its specialty metals products, including zone cabling products for Herman Miller (NASDAQ: MLHR).

The purchase expands the capabilities of the company's wholly owned metal fabrication subsidiary, Omega Metals, allowing it to complete in-house what was previously outsourced, explained American Access president John Presley. "In the past, outsourcing the powder-coating process limited the number and type of jobs that Omega Metals could accept. We expect the addition of this new equipment to increase productivity 20% and sales 10% by allowing us to take on a wider range of projects as well as service the needs of major customers such as Herman Miller," he said.

Presley also noted that the new equipment will be capitalized over seven years, rather than wholly expensed in the current quarter.

The company's patented "slip-fit" Ethocom and Comdeck zone cabling products, developed exclusively for installation within Herman Miller modular wall frames, will make use of the new powder-coating process. American Access plans to aggressively pursue the $3.5 billion Herman Miller retrofit market over the next twelve months, estimating sales of the Ethocom and Comdeck lines to generate as much as $4 million in additional revenue.

Powder coating is an electrostatic baking process that fuses plastics to metal surfaces, resulting in a durable, porcelain-like finish that is sleek, smooth and elegant enough for applications such as top-of-the-line Herman Miller furniture. Unlike traditional finishing methods, powder coating does not chip or crack and is environment-friendly.

American Access also announced that it has retained Wall Street-headquartered M.S. Farrell & Co., Inc. as non-exclusive investment bankers.
