AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ANNOUNCES APPROVAL BY UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES (UL®) OF ZONE CABLING TERMINATION CABINET FOR CEILING-MOUNTED HUBS AND ROUTERS AND CREATES THE "BEST SOLUTION" TO UPGRADE U.S. SCHOOLS

Orlando, FL - January 27, 1998

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AATK ) has received UL® approval for their second generation Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC 1024-HR) giving them the green light to the telecommunications industry utilize zone cabling for high-speed data/voice infrastructures. These infrastructures can now be positioned in the ceiling tile grid system, effectively increasing the availability of rentable space and greatly reducing the normal costs of structured cabling systems.

Two of the most beneficial applications are for schools and offices. A vast majority of the schools built prior to 1994 were constructed with no provisions for telecommunications equipment. Upgrading these schools in a conventional manner would cost hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. With the use of the ZCTC 1024-HR these classrooms can be outfitted with the latest in technology for a fraction of the cost. Classrooms can be upgraded without major construction being performed. This product has been presented to various school board representative and positive responses have been received. More offices are being constructed with modular furniture. The ZCTC 1024 and the ZCTC 1024-HR are the easiest way to bring communications to the desk and while providing more flexibility for changes necessary when needed. After only two moves or changes within the office arrangement, the ZCTC system pays for itself.

Industry leaders, Bob Steger of ICG Fiber Optic Technologies (Nasdaq: ICGX) and Philip Klingensmith, RCDD of Building Industry Consulting Servicing International, a Telecommunications Association, endorsed the ZCTC 1024-HR and confirmed its impact on the telecommunications industry. Mr. Steger concluded, "The Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet is the answer to our customer needs since most have frequent moves, adds and changes. This product will reduce customer costs substantially."

Mr. Klingensmith further states, "Future life cycles of structured cabling systems will depend on the cost-effective capability to make fast, flexible and uncomplicated changes in an open office environment." The ZCTC 1024-HR provides unparalleled capabilities for such changes.

American Access Technologies, Inc. is the only company that is totally focused on zone cabling technology. The company recently designed and began manufacturing the ZCTC 1024, the only telecommunications enclosure that can be placed into the ceiling tile grid system. It has been designed to easily allow every manufacturer of telecommunications equipment to place this equipment into the structured zone cabling environment. This is the only product manufactured that can simply place telecommunications equipment into the ceiling, provide extensive cabling flexibility and still comply with industry as well as building codes, standards and regulations. The ZCTC system is the only system that brings high-capacity Voice, Data, Fiber, Video, and Coaxial Cable to the desk.

The design and application of the ZCTC 1024 provides the best solution to the federally mandated public school program of providing Fiber Optics and Internet access to the classroom. This unit is designed to be cost-effective for installations and renovations while producing a cost savings of 40-70 percent on every voice/data cabling system move, add or change. What makes these savings more significant is that 45% of all workstations are moved, added or changed every year.

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES LANDS INITIAL ORDER FROM SUN MICROSYSTEMS; TARGETS 1998 TELCOM EQUIPMENT SALES AT $7.5 MILLION, UP FROM $275,000 IN 1997

Orlando, FL - April 14, 1998

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (OTC Bulletin Board: AATK) announced today an initial order for telecom switching enclosures from Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: SUNW) for its Denver, CO campus. CEO Richard A. Murray, designer of the company's patented Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC) technology, said that further Sun Microsystems orders for its Boston and Silicon Valley facilities could total hundreds of units at an installed cost of approximately $1,000 per unit. "American Access Technologies is targeting 1998 sales of $7.5 million, up from $275,000 in 1997, our startup year," said Murray. "Our Sun Microsystems order is an important step toward that goal," he noted. American Access Technologies' patented, UL-approved Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC) applies the concept of "Zone Cabling" to replace conventional telecommunications wiring. By situating a 2-ft.x 4-ft. ZCTC "mini phone closet" in the ceiling or floor nearby phones, faxes and workstations, wiring for these devices need only extend a short distance -- versus all the way out to a conventional "phone closet" several hundred feet away. The ZCTC unit itself is connected to the conventional "phone closet," or directly to the Main Distribution Frame, via a single cable, thereby eliminating miles of wiring in the typical building. Bypassing conventional "phone closets" in this manner enables corporate offices, technical centers, schools, labs and hospitals to greatly reduce recabling costs as their needs change.

Zone cabling is estimated to reduce the long term cost of installing and maintaining a telecom wiring system by as much as 70%. American Access Technologies, Inc. introduced ZCTC technology for telecommunications enclosures in nearby floors and ceilings in 1997.

The company partners with Anixter International Inc. (NYSE: AXE) as distributor, ICG Fiber Optic Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICGX) as key vendor and Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) as manufacturer of Systimax(TM) Solution telecommunications equipment.

AMERICAN ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES AND STATE OF TENNESSEE IN PACT TO STANDARDIZE STRUCTURED AND NETWORK CABLING IN STATE FACILITIES

Utah, Other States Expected to Adopt American Access Systems to Cut Change-Driven Cabling Costs by Up to 70%

Altamonte Springs, FL - October 7, 1998

American Access Technologies, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AATK) announced today that the State of Tennessee has notified the company that it has decided to utilize American Access structured cabling and network cabling products exclusively throughout its schools, office buildings and public facilities.

CEO Richard A. Murray said that the first company installation under the standardization pact will be at the Rachel Jackson Building of the Department of Corrections in Nashville, beginning in November.

"The public sector has long struggled with cabling costs for moves, additions and changes, which often quickly exceed the original cost of the equipment itself," said Fred Rouse, Manager of Cabling Infrastructure for the State of Tennessee. "By implementing `zone cabling,' however, we can now dramatically cut those costs, which will in effect allow us to upgrade our equipment without additional burden to our taxpayers.

"After nine months of analysis we concluded that American Access products are the best solutions for structured and network cabling we have observed. They are the first to make zone cabling feasible, and we expect them to keep us ahead of constant changes in this industry," said Rouse.

"American Access is honored to be working with the State of Tennessee," said CEO Murray. "In addition, we expect the State of Utah to soon appoint us as exclusive vendor for IS enclosures, and we are currently negotiating with several other states as well. We anticipate the public sector to develop as an important growth area for American Access, especially in a recessionary environment when there are fewer tax revenues to support public infrastructure modernization," he said.

American Access' patented, UL-approved Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (ZCTC) products for ceiling grids and raised floors apply the concept of "Zone Cabling" to replace conventional telecommunications wiring with a system that provides complete flexibility for voice and data cabling infrastructures.
