Warning
REMEMBER: Only install these enclosures in floors that have stringers. This is an enclosure that is very simple to install. Be sure that you have the appropriate enclosure for the depth of access floor. The RF Series of enclosures install underneath the floor tiles and are lifted up and supported by the floor brackets to the floor support stanchions, using the floor tile as the access door to the equipment installed inside
If you just follow the simple steps, the installation will be successful.
Parts List
- 1 ea. - ZCTC RF Enclosure.
- 1 ea. - Fire-rated foam kit (FP-B11)
- 4 ea. - Leveler bolts
- 2 ea. - Support Brackets
- Installation Instructions
- Warranty registration card.
Installation Tools Needed
- floor (suction cup) removal tool
- Open end wrenches ( 7/16" and 1/2" )
- Screw drivers ( Standard and Cross head / Phillips ) one each.
Step 1 - Preparation
Select the location of the installation and make sure that there are no obstacles in the way that would hinder the installation.
Step 2 - Opening the Shipping Box and Removal of the ZCTC Enclosure
Remove the enclosure from the box and lay out the parts.
NOTE: Do not lose the parts. You will be charged for them if you have to reorder due to loss.
Step 3 - Floor Tile Removal
Remove the tile from the selected location and one tile in each direction. You should have a hole in the floor system that looks like a ???
Step 4 - Stringer Removal
Remove two of the stringers that go between the tile supports. Place them in a safe place. They will be replaced once the enclosure is placed under the level of the floor tiles.
Step 5 - Mount Support Brackets
The support brackets get mounted under the enclosure. Mount the four support brackets by placing one on each corner support stanchion and point them towards the center making a cross from the corners. Make sure you mount them low enough so the enclosure will clear the level of the floor.
Step 6 - Installing the ZCTC Enclosure Onto Support Brackets
Place the enclosure in the selected area by tilting the unit at an angle so you can clear the floor with the wings that are on all four sides. Place the unit on the support brackets.
Step 7 - Securing the ZCTC Enclosure
Replace the stringers and tighten down the screws. Slide the enclosure up the support stanchions until the up right parts of the wings center themselves up in the stringers. Tighten the nuts on the support brackets to secure the enclosure up under the stringers of the floor tiles. Use the leveler screws to level or tighten the unit to the stringers by using the support brackets as a foot pad.
Step 8 - Replacing the Floor Tiles
Now the unit is installed and ready for cabling and equipment. Replace the tiles when you are finished and ready to close up the floor.
