The A1024-HR is the second generation of zone cabling termination cabinets, designed specifically for hubs and routers. The idea for this unit took shape after meeting with Architects, Engineers, School Board Officials, and Contractors around the country. We discovered an unmet need --- to find a way to feed in Fiber and convert it to Copper (CAT 5) for Schools. After consulting Underwriters Laboratories (UL®) on the matter, they confirmed our suspicion that, although it had never been done before, it was possible. We had already met all of the criteria for plenum environments with our first unit the Zone Cabling Termination Cabinet (A1024-LP), so we merely added the electronics. The demand was so overwhelming, we could not ignore it and rescheduled our whole R&D program.
